Create your shop and get started

From sign-up to the first sale: what to do, and in what order, so that a shop runs from day one.

Create the shop

Sign-up starts from the home page, with the Create my shop button. It takes three screens.

  1. Shop. Enter the shop name and its location (town, district or street). Both are required and will appear on your invoices. If someone gave you a promo code, this is where it goes: it gives a discount on your first subscription and cannot be added after the shop is created.
  2. Administrator. Enter your full name, your email address, your phone number and a password of at least 8 characters. The email address becomes your sign-in identifier: choose an address you really read.
  3. Logo & confirmation. Add the shop logo if you have one (PNG, JPG, WEBP or GIF, 2 MB at most), check the summary, then click Create the shop.
  4. Verification code. A 6-digit code is sent to your email address. It is valid for 15 minutes. Enter it to confirm: the shop is created at that moment, not before.

The code does not arrive? Look in the Spam and Promotions folders, wait a minute, then use Resend the code. If the address was mistyped, Change e-mail address takes you back to the form.

Signing up with Google

The Sign up with Google button replaces the email and password. Google confirms your address, then you only complete the shop details. You then have no password to remember: you will sign in with Continue with Google. You can create a password later if you wish.

Free trial and plans

If you did not choose a paid plan before signing up, the shop starts on the free trial, with no payment. The trial is limited in time and in volume (number of products, sales and users) and can be used only once per shop. Its exact limits, like those of the paid plans, are shown on the Subscription page and on the pricing page.

If you chose a paid plan from the pricing page, the shop is created and the application then invites you to pay for that plan to activate it. The whole process is described in Subscription and payment.

The first five steps

The application follows the natural order of a business: you can only sell what is in stock, and stock only exists for products already created. Here is the shortest path.

  1. Set the currency. In Shop info, choose the currency in which the shop counts everything. It is locked from the first sale, so now is the time to choose it. See Shop details, currencies and payment methods.
  2. Create your products. Menu Stock › Products & prices, button New products. Give each product a name, a purchase price and a selling price. You can enter the quantity already on the shelf as the starting quantity. See Products, prices and wholesale.
  3. Check the stock. Menu Stock. The shop has one warehouse from the start; you only create a second one if your goods are kept in several places. See Stock, warehouses and transfers.
  4. Make a first sale. Menu Sales › New sale. See Making a sale and collecting payment.
  5. Close the day in the evening. Menu Cash › Close day: you compare the expected cash with the cash actually counted. See Closing the day.

Once the shop is running, add your sellers and cashiers with their own accounts instead of sharing yours: every action is then recorded under the name of the person who did it. See Users and rights.
